Trey Takes To His Bed For A Week
There is nothing more pleasant than drifting off into a warm, fuzzy, pain-killer induced daze after waking up in the middle of the night shivering with pain, self-doubt, and mind-crushing depression. I imagine it is similar to a teenage girl getting her first period. I'm not trying to say that this is an awkward time in my life, and that I am experiencing bleeding from places I wouldn't normally expect bloodflow. Both of those things may be true, but that's not what this is about.

All I'm saying is that getting your tonsils removed may be pretty unpleasant, but it's not all bad. For example, I watched Mulan yesterday.

Mulan, a teenage girl going through puberty, must deal with her parent's, community's, and indeed, the entire country of China's disapproval after having her first menstruation at a really awkward time. Seeing that I am in a similar situation, I really related to her plight, and was surprised to see that she dealt with this adversity much in the same way that I would have, by dressing in men's clothes, acting tough, and pretending her voice is deeper that it really was. I was bawling by the time the credits rolled. It's uncanny how Disney movies seem to reach through all the modern distractions and manage to touch everyone who happens to watch one of their movies.

I also dated an Asian once, so I felt it was an important step towards understanding her culture. You know, the Asian culture. Although, I never did understand why she never got a sword. Seems like everyone other Asian has a sword. Shit, I even have a sword.

Speaking of cutlery, I haven't needed any for some time now. Even my titanium spork has been completely unused for going on five days. Point is: no solid food. Lots of fluids, son. Water, Ensure, Gatorade, Vitamin Water, smoothies, popscicles, applesauce, pudding. You see what I've been reduced to? PUDDING! They made me eat pudding! It makes my saliva brown and sticky, as if my throat wasn't already disgusting enough. It is like a black pit of despair in there. That's fine though. Black is good. Black as my soul. Black as the storm of justice that will ensue when I bust outta my 1br apartment and get my ass back to Rue de la Course to start missing some more connections. #1 in the hood, G!
